Do you want to be a Dancer for the Miss Big Bear Pageant 2013???
Below are the basic outlines for involvement in the Miss Big Bear Pageant. Subject to change.

In
order to participate in the Miss Big Bear Pageant you must first audition.
Auditions are for dancers ages 7 and up, New and Returning dancers may
audition. The audition will include but
not be limited to Jazz Technique, Lyrical Technique, and Character. Depending
on Dancers who audition will depend on who is chosen. Auditions have been set for
Monday, August 5th. Check the Calendar for times.
If you are chosen to participate after the
audition process be prepared for the following:

Miss
Big Bear Fees are separate from Technique classes. Fees include
Performance Fees, Rehearsals, and Costume Rental. (Technically due to the price
of costumes Cortney is basically running rehearsals for free to make this
affordable for the dancers.) Check or Cash needs to be turned in by Wednesday,
August 7th at the first rehearsal to Cortney for the amount of $100.
(Note: participation is actually a $300 value!!! Plus dancers will be receiving
a certain costume piece to keep!!!)

If you
are chosen to be a dancer you are only guaranteed to be blocked into ONE number
(if you attend all the rehearsals.) Some dancers may be selected to be in other
numbers.
·
All
dancers participating in the Miss Big Bear Pageant MUST register for a minimum
of ONE BALLET AND ONE JAZZ TECHNIQUE class during the fall to stay conditioned.
Note: Rehearsals Do Not have warm ups. Dancers are to show up 15min prior to
rehearsal to warm up or register for technique prior to rehearsal.

Dancers
will need to purchase personal dance items such as but not limited to: tights,
shoes, accessories, etc.
·
Plan on
a Costume Deposit!!! Each dancer is required to deposit $5 per costume piece
that they are renting. When you return
ALL of your costume pieces in the condition you rented them in, not tampered
with, you will then have your full deposit returned to you. Now if you are
missing a piece you will risk not receiving some or all of your deposit back
plus possibly paying the difference if the costume retails at a higher
price. Once again notice that the
Costumes are rented and are to be returned intact. ***This year all deposits
are to be made in CASH.

Don’t
forget to check the Online Calendar!!!
Missed classes and/or missed rehearsals could result in being removed
from sections, entire numbers, or the entire show! (No Refunds) Note the
calendar also has costume pick up day, costume return day, picture day, PAC
days, full cast rehearsal days, ETC!!! So pay attention!!! The online calendar
will be continually updated so always check back to make sure you know when are
where to be and what to be prepared with.

Note:
If your friends and family want to see you perform in the Miss Big Bear Pageant
they must purchase tickets. They are $25 and they go fast so buy yours early.
Rehearsals:
·
Rehearsals
are Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s at the Meadow Park Gym from 7-9PM. Some dancers may be excused from some of
these depending on which numbers are being rehearsed but plan on all of them
for now.

PLUS!!!
Dancers will be expected to participate in some of the Sunday rehearsals with
the Pageant Contestants. TBA

Dancers
are to find their own transportation to and from rehearsals including those at the
PAC.
Miss Big Bear
Contracts MUST be signed by both dancer and guardian at the time of the
audition, Monday, August 5th, to ensure you are both aware of the commitment. If chosen fees are due Wednesday, August 7th
at the first rehearsal.
(Contracts will
be available Thursday, August 1st at the Welcome Back Registration
Day, and on the table at the gym when classes start Monday, August 5th.
