 Dance Mentoring

Information Below...

Are You Interested in Becoming a Dance Mentor Next Year???

Qualifications To Apply:

·         You must either be registered on the Junior Dance Team or Varsity Dance Team

·         Or You must be enrolled in at least THREE technique classes a week.

What You Get:

·         Becoming a Dance Mentor will enrich your life and expand your own personal growth.  You will get to learn the basics of teaching which strengthens your own understanding and knowledge of technique.  Other dancers will look to you as a leader who they can follow and ask for help.

·         By mentoring  in one class you will get to choose one extra class to take for free!!!

Time Commitment:

·         If you are on the Dance Team and become a Dance Mentor and Choose a Free class you are committing to a minimum of 8 hours of dance each week.

·         If you are taking normal classes and become a Dance Mentor you will be committing to a minimum of five hours of dance each week.

·         If you sign up to be a Dance Mentor you will be committing to the entire 2012 year.

Responsibility Commitment:

·         As a Dance Mentor it is not only the students in the class in which you are mentoring that rely on you, but it is I as the Dance Director that also relies on you.   In years past I have been easy on my rules and picked up the slack myself when a mentor misses and neglects their responsibilities.  I cannot have that this year.

o   Mentors must attend the class they mentor in EVERY week. No exceptions .

o   Arrive early and stay late to help clean, organize, help students, discuss plans and incidents etc.

o   Abide by, uphold, teach and set an example of the 3D Policy along with Respect and Accountability.

o   Always come to your mentor class AND all of your normal classes prepared in a professional manner.

How Do I Apply???:

·         First you should TEXT Cortney ASAP if you are interested.

·         Second you should set up a time to meet with Cortney

Cortney will be willing to work with your personal dance schedule but understand she will place you in a Mentoring position that best suits the students and you together.

all rules and regs subject to change.
