Memorial Day Weekend

May 23rd thru May 26th

 If you are interested in being a part of Competition this year...

1. All ages and all skill levels will be considered (not everyone will be chosen)

2. If you are interested you must attend ALL the Class Placements and Conditioning February 3rd thru February 7th.

3. A guardian and yourself must attend a mandatory Comp Meeting Saturday, February 8th at NOON to sign contract etc. (Auditions for MarkE Advanced Hip Hop will also be taking place.)

4. Prepare yourself... comp rehearsals will primarily take place on the weekends.  3pm time slots during the week also might be used.

5. Dancers who compete need to be enrolled in a minimum of two classes for technique and conditioning purposes.

6. Some comp teams may ask for Spring Break rehearsals which will be discussed later.  

7. Comp dancers will have extra expenses to consider... Comp Registration Fees... Choreographer Fees, Costume, Travel, Food, Hotel, etc.

2013 Competition Information

General:

·         Dance Competitions are for serious dancers looking to explore the fun world of performing in front of thousands of other dancers.  Dancers must have depth in Technique, Flexibility, Strength, Positive Attitude, knowledge/understanding and usage of the 3D policy (Dedication, Discipline, Determination), and keen sense of Respect and Accountability, plus willing to spend extra amounts of time rehearsing. Lastly it is important to realize in order to compete it costs money.  Dancers who believe they are ready need to fill out all of the following comp paperwork and sign it along with a guardian and Cortney will choose dancers she believes can withstand the commitment, and portray the necessary confidence needed for competition.  If you are chosen to compete rehearsal times need to be scheduled immediately and half of all fees need to be paid up front.  A raffle fundraiser will be held just for dancers signed up to compete in order to help with expenses.  Note:  most rehearsals for comp will take place on the weekends due to limited time available during the week.  My goal is to have all comp numbers ready to perform in our spring show! I would also like dancers to commit to as many comps as possible with Disney being priority #1 and Vegas priority #2 if possible.  I also want each dancer to participate in at least one group number.

Expenses:

·         Entry Fees: (vary from comp to comp; varies between group/trio/duet/solo)

·         Choreographer Fees: ( varies between group/trio/duet/solo)

·         Travel Fees/Hotel Fees/Food: (individuals own responsibility)

·         Costume Expenses: (rental fees for certain costume pieces; plus dancers will need to supply some of their own personal mandatory pieces) (i.e. Makeup and hair supplies; tights, shoes, leotards etc)

Choreographer Fees:

Each comp piece will be scheduled for a minimum of 6 hours of rehearsals. Fees include costume rental fees. (Price will not be adjusted for dancers who choose to not rent from the DA closet)

o    Solos: $70

o    Duets: $40 each dancer

o    Trios: $30 each dancer

o    Groups: $25 each dancer
