What’s a DANCE MENTOR?

*** Definition of MENTOR: a trusted councilor or guide***

Becoming a Dance Mentor is a HUGE RESPONSIBILITY and should not be taken lightly!

A dance mentor is like an Assistant Teacher.

 Responsibilities of a Dance Mentor:

·        Must attend a minimum of 2 Technique classes every week.

·        Must attend the class or time you are mentoring in every week.

·        Arrive early so that you can make sure all students sign in before class and are prepared to start on time. As well as receive instructions from Cortney prior to starting.

·        Remain after to answer questions, help students, and check sign in sheets. Also in order to review class and receive instructions.

·        Must memorize warm ups and routines for the class you are mentoring in.

·        Willing to help and instruct dancers who need help in class.

·        Must be appropriately dressed, positive attitude and abide by 3D policy at all times.

·        Accountability & Respect is extremely important… if you are viewed as unreliable or irresponsible you will be asked to step down as a mentor. This includes a three strikes you’re out if you miss technique classes or miss mentoring.

·        Mentors could also be asked to help clean, organize, setup dance facility, collect money from drop in students, sell T-shirts, ect. Many of these other tasks already apply to other Dance Team members but Mentors are expected to be leaders and set an even higher standard for everyone else.

·        We want you to take great pride in being a Mentor and have fun while doing so!!!

·        If Mentors follow all of thee above they will then receive one free class each week for themselves.
